Last week, at Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services, we kicked off our annual year end giving campaign with highlights from our Veterans Day celebrations and ways to join us in our noble purpose to make the lives of our veterans and their families better.
Throughout this past year, we have had over 300 donations, with our individual and major donors making up nearly 44% of all of our revenue. In other words, together, we are truly Reaching America.
Over the last few weeks, we have seen a significant increase in the number of donations coming in through appreciated stock transfers, IRA distributions and donor advised funds. These are just a few of the tax-smart ways our donors are taking advantage of end of year giving and potentially reducing their capital gains taxes.
At Dixon Center for Military and Veteran Services, our donors believe as we do, that our veterans and military families can succeed where they live. That every organization and individual can effectively integrate veterans and their families into their existing community-based programs. Together, we create solutions to ensure both values are possible in every community.
