The idea for Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services – a resource enabling the integration of military and veterans services into existing programs to increase impact – originated out of experiences serving in the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. There, Colonel David Sutherland, U.S. Army (ret.) oversaw the division responsible for Warrior and Family Support, traveling the United States to implement these ideas. Many of the white papers he authored there or during Dixon Center’s formative years helped shape the core themes behind Dixon Center.
